Ria is a long-established money-transfer provider with online, app and in-person sending. It is especially useful when the recipient wants cash, although bank deposits, mobile wallets and selected home-delivery or cardless-cash options are available in some countries.

Is Ria a good choice?
Consider Ria when the way a recipient receives money and access to a nearby cash location matter. Compare the exact recipient amount at the same time and through the same channel, because online and store prices can differ.
Best for
- Recipients who need cash pickup or another local delivery option
- Senders who prefer paying or getting help in person
- Routes where bank deposit, mobile wallet and cash should be compared side by side
Ria pricing at a glance
Ria's total cost combines a transfer fee with an exchange rate that includes a margin. The fee and rate depend on the amount, destination, payment method, delivery method and whether the transfer is arranged online or in a store.
This is a USD-to-EUR currency-conversion example. Your exact price may differ by country and by how you pay and receive the money.
About Ria
Ria was founded in 1987 and joined Euronet Worldwide in 2007. It developed from a physical transfer business into a service that also accepts transfers through its website and mobile app.
Ria's current site reports more than 600,000 locations and service to more than 190 countries. That scale is most valuable for international transfers where the recipient needs a local cash or wallet option rather than only a bank deposit.
How Ria pricing works
Card-funded transfers are often faster but can cost more than bank-funded transfers. A card issuer may also treat the payment as a cash advance, which is outside Ria's own charge.
Ria shows the fee, exchange rate, total paid and recipient amount before confirmation. Because pricing changes across countries, payment channels and delivery methods, use Ria's calculator for the exact transfer you intend to make.
What else you get
Large physical network
A broad agent footprint makes cash collection practical in places where a bank transfer or digital wallet is less convenient.
Several delivery methods
Depending on the destination, recipients may use cash pickup, bank deposit, mobile wallet, home delivery or cardless ATM withdrawal.
Digital and in-person access
Send online or through the app, or visit a participating store when face-to-face service is preferable.
Strengths and trade-offs
Reasons to choose Ria
- A broad cash-pickup network for recipients who cannot use a bank account
- Bank, card and cash funding options in supported sending countries
- Useful delivery alternatives for recipients without a conventional bank account
Reasons to compare alternatives
- The fee and rate can change materially with the country, method and channel
- Online pricing is not the same as pricing quoted by an agent location
- The recipient's bank or another bank involved in the payment can deduct a fee that Ria cannot show in advance
Support and account checks
Ria publishes chat, WhatsApp and phone support, with local contact numbers and support in more than 100 languages.
A transfer review can require identity, relationship, transfer-purpose and payment evidence in addition to basic account details.
For source-of-funds checks, accepted evidence can include a recent bank statement, pay stub, tax return, loan statement or proof of a sale. Ria asks that documents be current, complete and sufficient to cover the transfer.
When to look elsewhere
Compare Western Union for another large physical network, Remitly or WorldRemit for a digital money-transfer service, and Wise when the recipient can take a bank deposit and transparent online pricing is the priority.
Large investment-related exchange?
For a large currency conversion that is part of genuine investing or trading in the account, compare Interactive Brokers first: its pricing can be difficult to beat. IBKR is a brokerage, not a stand-alone transfer service; use a transfer specialist for cash pickup or a direct payment to someone else.
What to know before you use Ria
Confirm that the chosen receiving method is available in the recipient's exact location; not every advertised method is offered in every country.
Cash collection depends on agent opening hours, identity requirements and local limits.
Promotional first-transfer pricing may not apply to later transfers.
