Is InstaReM a good choice?
A useful digital option in its supported sending countries, particularly for bank-delivered transfers and businesses paying overseas regularly.
Best for
- Digital bank-to-bank personal transfers
- Small businesses paying international suppliers or staff
- Senders who can use low-cost bank funding rather than a card
InstaReM pricing at a glance
Instarem shows the exchange rate, its charge and the amount the recipient should receive before confirmation. Its global fee page advertises personal pricing from 0.4%, but the actual price depends on the sending country, destination, amount, funding method and delivery method.
This is a USD-to-EUR currency-conversion example. Your exact price may differ by country and by how you pay and receive the money.
About InstaReM
Instarem began in 2014 and later became part of the wider Nium payments group. The brand operates through locally licensed Nium companies and partners.
Instarem's business site reports more than $6 billion moved annually, payments to more than 60 countries from its US service and licences in 11 countries. Coverage differs markedly by sending market.
How InstaReM pricing works
For US personal transfers, Instarem says it generally earns a small amount through the exchange rate. Some low-value transfers have an added fee, while debit- and credit-card funding carries a separate percentage charge.
Business pricing is also transaction-based and can differ by market and product. Use the quote in the relevant Instarem account; published starting prices are not a fixed charge for every currency pair.

The rate, Instarem charge and expected recipient amount are displayed before the transfer is sent.
Personal and business services
The same brand covers family transfers and business payments, although features and accounts are separate by country.
Strengths and trade-offs
Reasons to choose InstaReM
- Competitive starting prices on supported bank-transfer routes
- Regulated Nium entities across several major sending markets
- Business tools for repeat international payments
Reasons to compare alternatives
- Consumer availability is limited to selected sending countries
- Card funding can cost materially more than a bank-funded transfer
- Coverage and product features vary enough that a global headline can be misleading for one account
Support and account checks
Support is provided through Instarem's online help and country contact channels; available methods and hours vary by market.
Individual customers should expect identity, address and tax-number checks that follow their local account terms.
In the United States, the funding bank account must be in the customer's name and control; business customers can be asked for company and ownership documents.
When to look elsewhere
Choose Wise when wider currency coverage and a detailed live quote matter most, Remitly when the recipient needs cash or a wallet, or Airwallex when a business needs collection accounts, cards and expense controls as well as transfers.
Large investment-related exchange?
For a large currency conversion that is part of genuine investing or trading in the account, compare Interactive Brokers first: its pricing can be difficult to beat. IBKR is a brokerage, not a stand-alone transfer service; use a transfer specialist for cash pickup or a direct payment to someone else.
What to know before you use InstaReM
Instarem is a Nium brand, so the legal provider and terms change with the country where the customer signs up.
The cheapest published starting price may not apply to your funding method or destination.
Use the final recipient amount—not a promotional saving claim—to compare Instarem with another provider.
