Provider pricing watch

This ledger records the pricing terms most likely to change a comparison: Wise route fees, Revolut plan limits and Interactive Brokers currency-trading commissions. The first release is a baseline, not an invented history.

Planned cadence: a full check each quarter, plus an earlier entry when an official provider notice or price document shows a material change. The next scheduled review is November 2026.

What counts as a change

We add an entry when an official fee document, plan price, allowance, commission or route quote changes enough to affect cost or product fit. A new review date alone is not described as a provider price change.

Wise

Wise prices each currency route and funding method separately, so the useful signal is the quoted fee for a fixed transfer rather than one global percentage.

Provider review

  • $1,000 USD to DOP: a $50.52 API fee with a dynamic charge on the recorded date.
  • £1,000 GBP to NGN: £6 from a Wise balance in the recorded public price check.
  • A$1,000 AUD to NZD: A$4.44 from a Wise balance in the recorded public price check.

  • Dynamic charges on less widely used currencies

Revolut

Revolut pricing is country- and plan-specific. The US baseline is kept separate from UK and Singapore terms so plan names are not treated as globally interchangeable.

Provider review

Current baseline

  • US Standard: $0 monthly, $1,000 rolling exchange allowance, then a 0.5% fair-usage fee.
  • US Premium: $9.99 monthly, $10,000 allowance, then a 0.5% fair-usage fee.
  • US Metal: $16.99 monthly with no fair-usage exchange limit.
  • US Standard adds 1% outside stated foreign-exchange market hours; Premium and Metal do not.

What we monitor

  • Monthly and annual plan prices
  • Exchange allowances and over-limit fees
  • Outside-market-hours fees
  • Country-specific plan benefits and transfer discounts

Interactive Brokers

Interactive Brokers separates a currency trade from its commission. The main items to watch are the commission tier, minimum order charge, quote-markup policy and product availability by affiliate.

Provider review

Current baseline

  • First manual spot-FX tier: 0.20 basis point, equal to 0.002% of trade value.
  • Minimum commission: USD 2 per order at the first tier.
  • IBKR says it adds no markup to quotes received from its FX dealers and charges commission separately.
  • Direct spot-currency trading permissions and supported products vary by affiliate and account.

What we monitor

  • Commission tiers and minimum order charges
  • Manual spot FX versus automatic conversion pricing
  • Supported currencies and direct pairs
  • Affiliate, account and withdrawal restrictions
